This section of my Go Site is devoted to "bloopers" - bad moves made by players who are strong enough to know better, but instead keep repeating the same mistakes over and over. My theory is that it is some kind of reflex - they have seen these moves played by even stronger players, so they think that these moves are good... but they are not! Maybe the positions in which these moves were played initially were specific in some way? Or maybe the stronger players who played them initially made mistakes, tried to surprise the opponent by unusual play, or simply misclicked. Hard to say.
Or maybe the moves are great and I am just full of it.
Anyways - I will try to collect such moves because I think that they are based on some kinds of misconceptions. What's worse, they tend to have the famous "chain reaction" effect - they spread like computer viruses! One player plays a bad move and wins his game, so others think its a good move and play it themselves, and so on...
As Capitan Piccard once said "The line will be drawn here!". :)
I think it might be worthwhile and educational to look at some of such "bloopers". My approach will generally be to present the position in which the "blooper" was played, show what are the usual moves in simmilar positions, and then explain why the usual continuations are better than the "blooper".
