Alternatives

Here are some links to pages which can be used in addition or instead of my own. Please check them out, they are all excellent pages, probably surpassing mine in quality and content. But who is comparing... :)

On-Line Resources

Sensei's Library

Like in so many other things, the Sensei's Library is a major resource to look at first, not only for the actual knowledge, but also for a wealth of links to other related pages. On the Rules page you can find a lot of stuff, including tutorials, full rule texts, information about counting and scoring, and much more. It always pays to check with the Sensei's first. Chances are, whatever you're looking for is right there, ready to be found.

Beginners' Guides

There are a lot of good Go tutorials on the web for beginning players. I have chosen here two that I think are particularily good. Check them out, please.

Advanced Rules

Go rules are not an easy subject to understand. There are some pages specializing in the advanced approach. There you will find full texts of various Go rule sets, their analysis and discusion of their differences. Not an easy stuff, but still worth having a look.

For more links, please check the Resources page of my Go Links section.

Introductory Books

Other than browsing through the multitude of web pages, your preference might be to quietly sit down with a book and a board and enjoy learning Go this way.
