Basically, it is, as the name suggests, a hall full of traders. At some point I got annoyed by the silly games I had to play with the Crab or the Scamp, and decided to develop a mod which will allow me to avoid that.
Another reason for going into the trouble of developing this mod was my sloppiness in trading. More than once have I managed to sell an important item to somebody or other, and unerringly forgot who i sold it to... and had to run around the island looking to buy it back when it became apparent that I needed it, often without success. So I made a habit of selling all the items in one and the same place, always, without deviation. But there was no convenient place for that in existance, so I created my own.
And so here we are... with Trading Halls.
In a nut-shell, Trading Halls consists of a Main Hall and 3 specialist halls, the Mages' Hall, the Theves' Hall, and the Warriors' Hall. Each of the traders has a purse of 50,000 gold pieces, and none of them has any items for sell. The sole purpose for their existance is to buy, buy, buy, untill it goes no more. Of course, once you sell some items, you can buy them back if you wish... for a higher price, that is. :)
The Main Hall houses general-purpose traders, like Clothes Trader, Enchanted Clothes Trader, Dwarven Artifacts Merchant, general purpose merchant, and so on. Every item in the game can be sold here, I think... Also, part of the Main Hall is designed to be a small sleeping area with a bed and some storage, so that a weary traveller can rest a little before engaging in some heavy haggling.
The Hall of the Mage is where all the merchants dealing with magic items are located. There is a Soulgem Merchant, Enchanted Items Merchant, Potions Merchant, Scrolls Merchant, Apparatus Merchant, and Ingredients Merchant.
In the Hall of the Thief you can sell all the shady items... Skooma fetches a nice price, as does the moon sugar... Locks and probes are in demand... All kinds of trinkets, wares, and loot can be unloaded here...
The Hall of the Warrior deals primarily with items of the martial kind. It contains Weapons Merchant, Armor Merchant, Tools Merchant, and Projectiles Merchant.
In addition to the above-named rooms, the mod features a fully functional Smithy with a fully functional smith, ready and eager to sell his services to you. Also, a small room is designed for Storage with many containers and some display space like shelves and tables. Nothing fancy, but might come in handy.
As in Ravenloft, a spitty teleportation system is provided for fast and easy in-house travel. I just hate all this walking. And, as in Ravenloft, there is no exterior to the place - you need to use the console to get an amulet which, when equipped, will teleport you to the Trading Halls. :)
As may be already apparent, Trading Halls was oroginally part of Ravenloft, but with time this mod has taken a life and form of its own. I started to like it so much that I decided to un-couple it from Ravenloft and present it as stand-alone, so you can use it even without Ravenloft. Hope you will enjoy it.
Issues:
None that I know of.
I tried to keep this mode very clean.
However, please email me if you find any problems.
